<p>PURPOSE: To improve the operability of a video recording and reproducing device by transmitting and displaying a video signal being processed in a video recording and reproducing device to a remote controller, and performing desired control operation watching a displayed picture at the remote controller. CONSTITUTION: In a video recording and reproducing device 9, an AV signal transmitting device 14 frequency-modulates a video signal being reproduced or inputted in recording, and outputs it as an infrared ray signal through a light emitting element. In a remote controller 10, an AV signal receiving device 17 receives an infrared ray signal from the AV signal transmitting device 14 through a light receiving element, and a video signal to which this signal is frequency-modulated is displayed on a liquid crystal display monitor 13. A user performs desired control operation through an operating section 11 watching a displayed picture of the liquid crystal display monitor 13. A control signal transmitting device 12 of the remote controller 10 transmits a signal from the operating section 11 as an infrared ray signal. A control signal receiving device 20 of the video recording and reproducing device 9 receives an infrared ray signal from the control signal transmitting device 12, and performs processing based on control operation.</p> |
