PURPOSE: To obtain a foil-wound electric double layer capacitor element that facilitates installation of tab terminals and is free from a tendency for a polarizing electrode layer to strip from electrode foil during manufacture. CONSTITUTION: A first tab terminal is installed to anode foil coated with a polarizing electrode layer to form an anodic body. A second tab terminal is installed to cathode foil coated with a polarizing electrode layer to form a cathodic body. The anodic body and cathodic body are spirally wound together with a separator in between to form an electric double layer capacitor element. The polarizing electrode layers 13, 23 are formed only on one side of each sheets of electrode foil 11, 12; 21, 22. The anodic body 10 and cathodic body 20 are formed by laminating respective sheets of electrode foil with the exposed surfaces 14, 14; 24, 24, opposite to the polarizing electrode layer coated sides, facing together and with respective tab terminals 15, 25 in between. |
