PURPOSE: To provide a differential gear for a vehicle by which differential limiting can be exhibited by means of an inexpensive and simple structure. CONSTITUTION: Based on an open differential gear, side gears 4A, 4B are separately constructed of gear part bodies 40A, 40B gearing with pinion gears 2A, 2B and shaft part bodies 41A, 41B integrally rotating with an axle, and torsional gear parts 401a, 401b, 411a, 411b gearing with each other are arranged on the inside diameter sides of the gear part bodies 40A, 40B and on the outer circumferential sides of the shaft part bodies 41A, 41B, while friction generating means 5A, 5B are arranged between the gear part bodies 40A, 40B and a housing or between the shaft part bodies 41A, 41B and the housing.
