<p>PURPOSE: To provide a display device having nonlinear elements which have continuous I-V characteristics and large nonlinear characteristics and are stable to a change with lapse of time and temp. change. CONSTITUTION: The nonlinear resistance layers 24 of the nonlinear elements successively laminated with first electrodes 22a, nonlinear resistance layers 24 and second electrodes 25a in this order are polycrystals which consist essentially of zinc sulfide and in which the crystal structure of the zinc sulfide includes a zincblende type structure. The nonlinear elements have the continuous I-V characteristics and large nonlinear characteristics and are stable to the change with lapse of time and temp. change. Since the crystal state is columnar, the effective passage of current to electric fields from outside is possible.</p> |
