<p>PURPOSE: To make the calculating load at the time of obtaining subband sample information in the series of decoding processings smaller. CONSTITUTION: The arithmetic value specified by the value of the scale factor information in audio compression data is divided into an integer part and a fraction part. This audio decoder has an arithmetic equation generating means 1 generating the arithmetic equation for performing an inverse quantization processing and an inverse scaling processing and a multiplying and adding means 2 performing calculations other than the calculation relating to the integer part based on the arithmetic equation generated by the arithmetic equation generating part 1. Then, the inverse quantization processing and the inverse scaling processing are made to be performed by a single multiplying and adding calculation and a single shift calculation by providing a shifting means 3 performing the calculation relating to the integer part by a shift calculation. Thus, the calculating load is made remarkably smaller by replacing the one multiplication of multiplications which have been performed two times in a conventional decoder with the shift calculation.</p> |
