CORRECTIVE TREATING METHOD OF BELT TYPE PHOTORECEPTOR

PURPOSE: To suppress catching of a foreign matter such as a carrier by a cleaning blade when the blade is passed over the joint of a photoreceptor body which is produced by joining two sides of a rectangular photosensitive sheet into a belt-like photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION: A photoreceptor belt produced by joining two sides of a sheet by ultrasonic welding is subjected to such a post-treatment that a member heated to a high temp. is pressed to the step of the seam to deform the step. Alternatively, before the two sides are joined, the two sides are heat-treated with a thermoplastic adhesive present in the space of a joined part. These heat treatments are performed in such a manner that the step of the joint in the treated area is decreased to a size smaller than the radius of the carrier or other foreign matter which are presumed to deposit on the photosensitive body and that at least either contact angle (angle 22) between the edge of the treated area and the surface of the photoreceptor is decreased to <=15 deg..
