PURPOSE: To accurately know the state at a document editing position by displaying information on the editing position in an editor. CONSTITUTION: This system is equipped with a document holding part 4 which holds a structured document and an editing process part 6 which edits the document, and the editor receives a SGML document 1 as an input and stores its editing result as an output in SGML document format. DFAs are generated by tags defined by DTDs and utilized to continue to analyze the SGML document, and a tree structure corresponding to the document structure is generated, held in a document holding part 4, and displayed at an input display part 8 through the editing process. The display screen has a display area where the editing position in the structured document in the structure tree structure is displayed in path form, a display area where the section of an input format is displayed, and a display area where a content model for the structure tree structure is displayed. |
