摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a current position computing device that is able to seek a vehicle position in a highly accurate manner, and when both long-term and short-term correction factors are adopted to correct a distance coefficient, to prevent any discontinuous variation in this distance coefficient in time of setting the long-term correction factor. CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor 214 seeks an error in a travel distance according to a calculated vehicle travel distance, a detected vehicle traveling direction and map data showing a road map at a curved part of a road, and on the basis of the sought error, a short-term correction factor for correcting a distance coefficient in a short-range manner is formed there. In addition, on the basis of the actual result of correcting this distance coefficient, a long-term correction factor for correcting the distance coefficient in a long-range manner is formed, and during the travel of the vehicle, this distance coefficient is corrected successively by means of both short-term and long-term correcting factors. In time of setting a new value of the long-term correction factor, the short-term correction factor is corrected so as not to get the value of the distance coefficient varied.
