PURPOSE: To improve the incoming message display during the use of other mode than the incoming call standby mode in a multi-function pager. CONSTITUTION: When a data input is made through the selection of a schedule function mode in other mode than the incoming call standby mode in the incoming call processing and a control section 26 detects an incoming call, the schedule input display state is not forcibly switched to the incoming call message display, the display content of icon data stored in a ROM 27 depending on the type of the call reception data is flickered to a part of display position in a display section 29 to inform a user of the arrival of call reception, and when a reset key is depressed, the flickering display of the icon data is stopped to display the content of the incoming call data onto a prescribed window frame and when the reset key is not depressed, display is controlled such that the flickering display of icons is shifted to the lighting display.
