PURPOSE: To obtain a record medium for an ink jet printer having excellent ink absorbing property, high color reproducibility, excellent surface glossiness, and excellent friction resistance. CONSTITUTION: On a paper base material, a silica gel layer is provided. In the silica gel layer, spherical primary particles of silica are bonded each other and the silica gel layer has a thickness of 0.1-10μm, in which powder consisting of secondary particles of silica is not contained substantially. On top of it, an alumina hydrate porous layer having a thickness of 5-100μm is provided. |
