摘要 PURPOSE: To prevent deviation of rules and restrain increase of glossiness at a traveled trace of a head by a thermal recording material having a thermal coloring layer and a protective layer layered on a support body, wherein the protective layer contains a lubricant having at least a specified melting point or lower and the coefficient of static friction of the surface of the protective layer is specified. CONSTITUTION: A thermal recording material is used for a word processor thermal printer of serial print type. The thermal recording material is formed by layering, on a support body, a thermal coloring layer having a leuco dye and a developer as main components, and layering a protective layer having a pigment and a resin as main components in sequence thereon. The protective layer contains a lubricant having a melting point of at least 75 deg.C or lower. The static friction coefficient of the surface of the protective layer is made to be 0.3 or below. For the lubricant having a melting point of 75 deg.C or lower, for example, a higher fatty acid and its metallic salt, a higher fatty acid amino, and a higher fatty acid ester can be named. An average particle diameter of at least one kind of the pigment in the protective layer is made to be one time or above the thickness of the protective layer.
