PURPOSE: To exactly execute the lowering of a set vehicle speed by retaining the operation condition of an auxiliary brake as it is in case that the auxiliary brake is operated when a speed reduction switch is operated. CONSTITUTION: When a vehicle reaches a predetermined speed and a set switch 3 is switched OFF after a main switch 2 is closed during the travelling of the vehicle, a vehicle speed at this time is set as a set vehicle speed (target vehicle speed) so that autocruise control is started. The output of an engine is adjusted by the control of an electric governor 10 by a control unit 1 so that a present vehicle speed is maintained in the target vehicle speed. When the set switch 3 is switched ON at this time, the vehicle becomes in an engine brake condition so as to be decelerated, and when the set switch 3 is closed again, the vehicle speed at this time is set as a new set vehicle speed. In case where the set switch 3 is switched ON and an auxiliary brake 11 is in its operation, the operation condition of the auxiliary brake 11 is maintained. |
