Skateboard drive mechanism

One or more of the skateboard wheels (2) is driven by a rack-and-pinion mechanism. The ends (8,9) of the rack (4) form a support for the user's feet, and it tilts between two end positions. The pinion (3) with which it meshes, and which drives the steel shaft (7) incorporates a freewheel mechanism (6). Two or more wheels can be driven alternately by the tilting movement of the rack. There are two wheel pinions meshing with a common rack. The ends of the latter can be joined by a plank on which the user stands with both feet, the plank hinging on the frame.
