PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the mechanical strength of an element and to reduce the growth of a silica layer, by substituting a predetermined weight of the element for at least one compound of molybdenum boride and tungsten boride, and by making the compound exist as particles in a silicide material. SOLUTION: This relates to an electric resistance element of molybdenum silicide containing at least one high temperature layer and at least two lead-in conductor. The high temperature layer contains a homogeneous silicide material containing molybdenum and tungsten and expressed by a chemical formula MOx W1-x Si2 (where x= 0.5 to 0.75). The 10 to 40% (preferably 15%) of the total weight of the element is substituted for at least one compound of molybdenum boride and tungsten boride, the compound existing as particles in the silicide material. |
