PURPOSE: To execute edition processing without shifting the position of a document even when the edition processing is executed and to display a character string group to be edited at present without narrowing a screen to be used for edition. CONSTITUTION: When an edition processing means 6 deletes a character string group, a control code inserting means 602 inserts a control code having the same size as the deleted character string group as a substitute of the deleted character string group. When the means 6 inserts a character string group into a position superposed to a control code, a control code deleting means 603 deletes the control code from the superposed part. A character string group to be edited is written in a storage area 40 at the time of edition processing and the position of the character string group to be edited in document data 15 written in a position information storing area 401. An edited character string group display controlling means 5 controls a display means 3 so as to overwrite the stored character string group to be edited on the position indicated by the position information to display it. |
