PURPOSE: To satisfy the dimensional standard, appearance, and safety function of a battery, by using heat shrinkable raw material, shrinking in directions of the height and width of the battery, as sheath material of the battery having shapes of angular or elliptica, etc., and making an opening part shape circular, etc. CONSTITUTION: As the sheath material of a battery, having an elliptical or angular shape or intermediate shape of them, wherein a ratio W/T, between a width W and thickness T, of 1.50 or more and 8.0 or less; a tube A is used, which is composed of heat shrinkable raw material shrinking in two directions of the height and width of a battery. Moreover, the opening part 3a of the battery insertion portion of the tube A is made to have a circular arc shape, and preferably, the radius R of curvature of a circular arc portion is made 1.2W<=R<=6.5 W. In a case where the radius R of curvature is less 1.2, the shrinkage allowance of the tube A at the corner part 4 of the battery is too small to uniformly insulatingly coat the terminal surface of the battery, and in a case of exceeding 6.5W, a shrink area is too large to unify shrinkage. Moreover, preferably, the tube A is composed of polyester or polyolefine resin, or tack seal material wherein the resin is adopted as base material. |
