PURPOSE: To provide the tape material separating method of a tape-shaped coated optical fiber capable of effectively removing an outside tape material. CONSTITUTION: Scratches are made on the surface side and the rear side of a tape-shaped coated optical fiber 1 with blades 4a, 4b arranged in the upward and the downward of the coated fiber 1(A). Next, adhesive rollers 6a, 6b having adhesive layers 5a, 5b are pressed against both sides of the coated fiber 1 by tacky powers of adhesive layers while pressing them against the both sides (B) and the tape material and a coated optical fiber core 2 are separated by stripping off the tape material by making the tape-shaped coated optical fiber 1 move while making the adhesive roller 6a, 6b rotate and by stripping off the tape material while tearing the tape material in pieces of the tape material 3a of the surface side and the tape material 3b of the rear side. |
