PURPOSE: To obtain an endoscope which even a beginner can easily operate. CONSTITUTION: Laser beams 6 are applied from a glass cylinder 2 for actual shooting being arranged at a position away from the center of an optical fiber 1. By observing an irradiated surface 4, the light application point of the laser beams 6 approaches the center of a sight 5, as the distance from the optical fiber 1 to the light application surface 4 increases. On the other hand, as the distance from the optical fiber 1 to the light application surface 4 becomes shorter, the application point of the laser beams 6 recedes from the center of the sight 5. Therefore, by calibrating the amount of deviation in advance, the distance can be determined from the amount of the deviation.
