PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily confirm contents of a plurality of programs by displaying program guide signals on the main screen of a CRT and, when the user selects the contents of a desired program upon seeing the programs contained in the displayed program guide signals, displaying the selected contents on the auxiliary screen of the CRT. SOLUTION: A signal compressing section 20 compresses TV signals converted as displaying signals by means of a TV signal processing section 14 or DBS broadcasting signals indicating the contents of the programs contained in program guide signals decoded by means of a DBS decoder 10. A mixer 22 mixes the signals selectively compressed by means of the signal compressing section 20 with the program guide signals contained in the DBS signals decoded by means of the decoder 10. A video displaying section 16 makes the mixed signals from the mixer 22 to be displayed on a CRT 18 by driving the CRT 18 when the mixed signals are impressed upon the section 16. |
