PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent image without a defect in image quality by preventing toner remaining on a carrying belt from transferring to an electrode roller and sticking to a recording material in an electrophotographic system image forming device. CONSTITUTION: An attracting corotron 7 and the electrode roller 9 which face each other with the carrying belt 8 are provided in a position where the recording material is supplied onto the carrying belt 8 by a paper feeding roller 12 and a power source 21 is connected between the attracting corotron 7 and the electrode roller 9. A controller 22 controls the output of the power source 21 and the driving of the feeding roller 12, based on the output of a sensor 23. In other words, when the position of the belt 8 is detected by the sensor 23, the roller 12 is driven at prescribed timing and a voltage applied between the corotron 7 and the roller 9 is controlled to form an electric field weaker than that at the time of inserting the recording material, when it is not inserted. Thus, the toner remaining on the belt 8 is prevented to transfer to the roller 9. |
