PURPOSE: To prevent toner from adhering to the connecting position of an endless carrier and to appropriately set an image forming inhibition area which is set before and behind the connecting position by varying the connecting position of the endless carrier and the image forming inhibition area. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a connecting position detection means 04 detecting the connecting position 01a of the endless carrier 01, and a control means 05 controlling so that a pattern for detecting color slurring 03 is inhibited from being formed at the connecting position 01a of the carrier 01 and within a fixed range before and behind the position 01a in the case the detection means 04 detects the connecting position 01a of the carrier 01. Furthermore, it is equipped with a correction means 06 varying the connecting position 01a of the carrier 01 and the image forming inhibition area set before and behind the position 01a by the control means 05. Thus, the toner is prevented from adhering to the connecting position 01a of the carrier 01, the image forming inhibition area is prevented from being deviated from the connecting position 01a, and the inhibition area is set as narrow as possible. |
