PURPOSE: To keep the acoustic characteristic well by providing split grooves to form each of plural piezoelectric devices with two or more piezoelectric elements and providing lead wires in split grooves to electrically connect the lead wires and piezoelectric elements. CONSTITUTION: Each of piezoelectric devices 3 arranged like a matrix is formed with four piezoelectric elements by split grooves 11a and 11b. Cut grooves 5a and 5b and split grooves 11a and 11b are filled with a reinforcing material 6, and lead wires 7 for grounding are laid on the reinforcing material 6 in split grooves 11a in the direction of an arrow X. The lead wire 7 and surface split electrodes 1 (1a, 1b, 1d, and 1d) of respective piezoelectric elements are joined in the center part of each piezoelectric device 3 by solder 13 to form a common potential face. Since lead wires 7 are connected in split grooves 11a of non-piezoelectric areas of piezoelectric devices 3, the bad acoustic influence of lead wires is prevented because they don't exist on transmission and reception faces of ultrasonic waves. |
