PURPOSE: To make it possible to simplify the production of a liquid crystal display panel by decreasing stages for forming oriented films while improving the visual sensation characteristics of the liquid crystal display panel. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display panel consists of first and second substrates 11, 12 which are provided with the oriented films 31, 32 and face each other and liquid crystals 20 which are inserted between these substrates 11 and 12. The oriented films 31, 32 of respective the substrates 11, 12 are subjected to orientation treatments in such a manner that the pretilt angles of the liquid crystals 20 near the surfaces of the oriented films vary in magnitude with every microregion. In addition, the oriented films 31, 32 consist of single layers. The oriented films 31, 32 are so constituted that the film thicknesses vary with every microregion. The film thicknesses in the respective microregions are varied by one time of photolithography stage and the pretilt angles near the surfaces of the oriented films 31, 32 are thereby varied, by which the rising directions of the liquid crystal molecules at the time of voltage impression are varied and the visual angle characteristics are improved. |
