PURPOSE: To provide a data display device capable of displaying item data in accordance with the number of items, data volume in each item and the size of a display screen without using a form differently from a convential method. CONSTITUTION: The data display device is provided with an item data reading means 5 for reading out item data stored in a data storing means 4, an item inserting position computing means 6 for computing the number of display lines for character data to be displayed on the display screen and the number of pages on the display screen by comparing the number of items indicated by the item data read out by the means 5 and data volume with area data indicating the size of a data display enabled area on the display screen and determining an item inserting position in accordance with the computed result and a data inputting means 7 for preparing a display form for character data corresponding to the item based upon the item inserting position determined by the means 6 and inputting character data to the display form and displaying the character data. |
