The information system (1) includes a computer (2) and a memory (3) with digital speech and music sounds organised in files (4) that can be reproduced by the output unit (5). An interface (6) connects the computer to a private or public telephone network (7) through a subscriber terminal (8) provided with a switch (11). This switch has three positions and connects an operator or several operators to the computer or to someone at the other end of the telephone line.
