METHOD FOR ESTIMATING NUMBER OF PROCESSING ENABLE CALLS

PURPOSE: To attain residence of many calls in a range warranting quality with respect to a connection delay time corresponding to fluctuation in a traffic characteristic by estimating number of calls to be resident in a node based on number of connection processing end calls. CONSTITUTION: A data temporary storage section 54 receives number of calls D whose processing is finished from a data measurement section 4 and reads a Td* and a T (Td* is an upper limit of a call connection processing delay time and T is a measured period) from a delay time upper limit storage section 52 and a measurement period storage section 53. An in-system resident enable call number estimate section 55 uses the Td*, T, D received from the data temporary storage section 54 to estimate an in-system residence enable call number L* and then sends the estimated value to the data temporary storage section 54. The estimate value L* of the in-system residence enable call number (estimate value of number of calls resident in a node for call connection processing) is calculated by a formula of L*=Td*×D/T. Thus, residence of calls as many as possible is attained within a range where the quality with respect to the connection delay time is guaranteed corresponding to the fluctuation in the traffic characteristic and the throughput is maintained and redialing is prevented.
