A method for manufacturing a multilayered material for use as surface covering or the like, reusing plastics wastes. In particular fitted carpet pieces come into consideration. From the plastics wastes, a layer is formed which is exposed, preferably at both sides, to a surface pressure with the simultaneous supply of heat which allows the zones close to the surface to melt.
