Spark-plug cap/lead for IC engine

A connector for a spark plug lead in an IC engine has two insulating caps(29), one for the plug(3), one for the coil(5), with the insulating sleeve(27) of the lead engaging each end cap, with extra insulation between them. This last insulation is an annular strip which lies over the sleeve and the cap clips around it. The strip has peripheral grooves which engage with peripheral ribs on the sleeve, these ribs then snapping into mating recesses on the inside wall of the cap. An insulating bonding material is also used to seal the caps to the sleeve. The caps are U-shaped in cross- section where they clip to the sleeve.
