Holder and stand for tools e.g. drill bits

The holder has a cover (13) which can be turned through an angle of at least 270 degs. in order to take up a fully open position behind the base (12) and act as a footing for the holder. The cover has a pin (21) on both sides which fits into a recess on the side wall of the base. The base has an annular pin (23) which fits into a recess (24) on the stand. A protrusion (25) on the cover pin causes rotation of the stand with the cover. The hinged connection between cover and stand (14) moves the stand into an inclined position as the cover is opened.
