Novel compositions comprising asphalt, having improved durability, are disclosed, the compositions comprising or containing (a) from about 0.1 % to about 5.0 % of a Group II metal hydrocarbyldithiophosphate, or mixture thereof, and (b) from about 0.1 % to about 5.0 % of an antioxidant butylated phenol, or mixture thereof, the ratio of (a) to (b) being from about 0.75:1 to about 4.0:1. A process of making such improved compositions is also described, as well as methods of utilizing such compositions. |
