The mechanism consists of a double stirrup (1, 2) containing a cam (5) which engages with a steel cable when released by a locking mechanism in the form of an independent centrifugal system. The locking mechanism is controlled by a vertical chain (4) located inside the door frame and engaging with a sprocket equipped with the centrifugal system. The centrifugal system comprises a weight with a balancing arm at one end and a ratchet tooth at the other, with the weight pivoting about an axis fixed to the sprocket and having its rotation limited by a stop. The weight can also have a magnetic element which interacts with a permanent magnet attached to an adjustable lug which enables the mechanism to be regulated according to the door's rate of fall.
