The breakdown aid has a carrier (1) with at least one running element (3) and at least one holding element (7) which has a releasable lock and grips a spoke of the wheel from behind when fitted. There may be two running elements, one behind the other. The carrier may consist of at least two carrier segments (5) connected movably by a carrier joint (6). There may be one running element for each carrier segment. The holding element may be in the form of a tab and may have an adjustable folding lock.
