The suspension for a wheel comprises a telescopic hydraulic actuator with a tubular body (24) and an actuator rod (26). These are connected to the vehicle bodywork and to the wheel axle (14). The telescopic parts are positioned relative to each other by a guide bearing (70). The internal end of the tubular body carries a piston (28) which slides in the body. The double ball bearing is interposed between two coaxial facing cylindrical surfaces which delimit the two telescopic parts. The bearing is axially displaceable and rotates by contact of the ball bearings with the opposite cylindrical surfaces. The bearing sleeve two end zones (70E) form support cages which each carry a bearing ring. These end zones are separated by an intermediate zone (70I) forming a spacer.
