<p>The present invention concerns a method of hydrocyanating ethylenically unsaturated dinitriles into saturated dinitriles, in particular hydrocyanating pentene nitriles into adiponitrile, one of the base compounds for the production of polyamide 66. More precisely, the invention concerns a method of hydrocyanating an ethylenically unsaturated aliphatic nitrile by reaction with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of an aqueous solution of a catalyst comprising a transition metal-sulphonated phosphine compound. The invention is characterized in that the solution also contains a co-catalyst comprising at least one Lewis acid.</p> |
