Hitherto known industrially used quasi-isostatic pressing processes for the manufacture of precision explosive charges were restricted to use at room temperature. However, this did not allow the manufacture of plastic-bound charges. According to the invention, the material to be pressed (1) is now preheated at temperatures of 100 DEG -120 DEG C and then pressed at pressures of the order of 3500 bar in an autoclave (30) for 0.5-5 minutes and, after a pressure release, cooled during a further phase of a duration of 10-180 minutes at pressures of 50-500 bar. In a further embodiment of the subject of the invention, two autoclaves are used, namely a high-pressure autoclave and a low-pressure autoclave. Type of apparatus for carrying out the process relate to the suitable design of the autoclaves and to the press moulds.

|
