Optimally efficient power drive for high-speed yarn spinning spindles

A power drive for the spindles of a spinning machine or twisting frame has at least one asynchronous motor connected to a frequency converter for the adjustment of its rotational speed. The motor drive shaft is coupled to a drive shaft running along the length of the machine and carrying drive pulleys each of which is wound round by a belt driving at least one spindle. The motor (31) drive shaft (32) is attached to a torque converter (14) which is designed so that the frequency converter (34) and the motor operates only within the range 35-50 Hz.
