The surfaces of the chair seat and backrest are clad with heat-resistant plates. Below and behind these surfaces is a closed chamber (4), heat-insulated on the outside. This contains a heat source, and the side of the seat surface (2) towards the chamber is covered by a layer of insulating material, whose dimensions are such that the heat-resistant plates forming the heated surfaces are kept at an acceptable temperature. The plates can be of ceramic or natural stone. The heat-source can be a burning candle, while the chamber has guides for the combustion air between inlet (9,10) and top outlet (12) ports and along the candle-holder.
