A transmitter implant (10) includes a flexible elongate housing (12), a transmitter (28) disposed within the flexible housing (12) and a power cell (30) disposed within the flexible housing (12). A conductive power circuit (32) is connected to the transmitter (28) and spaced from the power cell (30). Flexing of the housing (12) brings the power cell (30) into contact with the conductive power circuit (32) thereby supplying power to the transmitter (28).
