The light box comprises a housing with an internal reflective coating and at least one diffusion surface with an aperture sealed by a transparent or translucent material. There is a receiving surface with at least one aperture (1j) for passing light from a light source. The housing contains a number of fixed or movable mirrors (1a,1b,1c) for reflecting light from the light source towards the reflective coating (1g,1h) on the inside wall of the housing. There may also be translucent blades within the housing. Both blades and mirrors may be mounted on shafts which are supported by passing through the housing wall with control buttons (1d,1e,1f) provided for adjusting the position of the mirrors or blades.
