ÄObjectÜ To increase a power-generated amount per unit volume of an solid oxide fuel cell, to facilitate gas sealing, to increase structural strength of a cell unit, and to enhance reliability between the cell unit and the unit cell-collected cell. ÄConstructionÜ For example, an air electrode film 4 is provided on one surface of a planar solid electrolyte 3 having a planar rectangular shape, and a fuel electrode film 5 is provided on the other surface. There side edge portions of the planar solid electrolyte 3 are exposed on the side of the air electrode 4. A separator 1A is made of a dense electron conductor, and is formed with slender projections at three side edge portions thereof. These slender projections are gas-tightly joined to the portions of the solid electrolyte exposed toward the air electrode 4. Thus, a cell unit 7A is formed, and is gas-tightly sealed at three side portions. A plurality of oxidising gas flow paths 8 are formed inside the cell unit 7A. An oxidizing gas flows in arrows A, B, C and D, whereas a fuel gas flows in arrows E and F. <IMAGE> |
