The invention concerns a pelleting plant through which a travelling grate passes carrying a layer of green pellets, the grate moving, in sequence, through the drying, heating, fuel-burning and cooling zones of a continuous-throughput oven. In the cooling zone, cooling gas is passed through the layer of pellets, the gas heated in this way, and also further heated by the combustion of the fuel in the fuel-burning zone, being then passed into the other zones of the oven and through the layer of pellets from top to bottom. In order to ensure optimum utilization of the heat, the cooling zone (11) of the oven (1) is divided into several successive sub-zones (15, 16, 17) which are connected, in the order in which the grate passes through them, to the fuel-burning zone (10), the heating zone (9) and the drying zone (8), respectively, the heated gas (19) being conveyed through separate ducts (20, 21, 22) located above the layer of pellets (5, 7). |
