An apparatus for sealing seams of footwear or clothing comprises a sealant applicator with an applicator surface, a cantilevered swivel arm 10 and a support surface 17 for the seam located at the free end of the swivel arm. The support means may be a roller 15 with a convex surface and the sealant applicator a roller 21 with a concave surface. The swivel arm is supported via a pivot arm 11 such that it can rotate about an axis 16 which passes through the support roller, which thus remains substantially in one position. In use, a boot or other item is placed over the swivel arm so that the support roller presses against one side of the seam to be sealed. The sealant applicator is placed on the other side of the seam to be sealed and the item is manipulated between the rollers so that sealant is applied to the seam. The sealant may be a tape or a hot melt adhesive. |
