PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further ameliorate the analysis of measuring results with an apparatus for detecting trash particles in a carding machine. SOLUTION: This apparatus for a carding machine is obtained by installing a measuring area between a stripping roller 6 and a crushing roller 8 for a fiber material, arranging a camera 18 for detecting impurities, e.g. a diode cell camera in the measuring area and further providing an illuminating means and an analyzing means (an image processing unit) in the apparatus for the carding machine for detecting trash particles, especially impurities, neps, seeds, naps or the like in the fiber material such as cotton or synthetic fibers. In order to further ameliorate the apparatus for detecting the trash particles and analysis of the measuring results, the camera 18 is oppositely arranged to a web moving between the stripping roller 6 and the crushing roller 8.
