PURPOSE: To improve the degree of deterioration even under high voltage load and to obtain a piezoelectric ceramic less liable to the reduction of energy transducing efficiency than conventional ceramics by introducing specified substitutive elements into PZT type piezoelectric ceramics. CONSTITUTION: The compsn. of this piezoelectric ceramic is represented by the formula Pb1-a-b Sra (Zrm Tin Mnx Nby Sbz )O1+2m+2n+2.5y+1.5z-b (where 0<=a<=0.15, 0<b<=0.05. m+n+x+y+z=1, 0.9<=m/n<=1.3, 0<=x<=0.02, 0.01<=x+y<=0.10 and 2x<=y+z) and the crystal structure is a perovskite structure. This ceramic is produced as follows; powdery starting materials giving a compsn. represented by the formula Pb1-a+c Sra (Zrm Tin )O3+c (where 0<=a<=0.15, 0<c<=0.05 and m+n=1) are mixed and calcined, starting material for Mn and/or starting material for Nb and/or starting material for Sb is further added to the resultant calcined body so that the total of the cations of the starting materials is made equal to c+b and they are mixed, pulverized and sintered. |
