<p>PURPOSE: To provide a dental orthodontic appliance with which bending, etc., for setting this appliance at the teeth is easily executed by using a superelastic alloy of an Ni-Ti system and the easy production in a manner as not to impart excessive orthodontic force on the parts not requiring correction is possible. CONSTITUTION: This dental orthodontic appliance includes a first member 1 for solely acting the orthodontic force on the teeth and a second member 2 acting other functions as well. This first member 1 is composed of the superelastic alloy of the Ni-Ti system having a strain recovery rate of >=3% and a superelastic characteristic at the intra-oral temp. or below. The second member 2 is composed of a metallic member having a strain recovery rate of <=1%. The first member 1 and the second member 2 are welded. At this time, an alloy layer formed by melting and solidifying of the metals of both members 1, 2 at the joint boundary of the first member 1 and the second member 2 is preferably formed to a thickness of <=10μm.</p> |
