摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized temperature compensated carburetor for a small-sized internal combustion engine used for a portable tool. SOLUTION: A temperature compensated carburetor is provided with a fuel flow regulating system including a composite valve member comprising a bi-metal strip 100 and a gate needle valve 42 for varying the effective flow cross-sectional area of a main and/or idle fuel supply duct to regulate the flow rate of fuel to a carburetor venturi mixing passage. The gate needle valve 42 may be made of brass or aluminum, or alternatively of plastic material with a large coefficient of expansion. The needle valve 42 has a bar like body provided at one end with a cylindrical mounting portion threadably secured in the movable free end of the bi-metal strip 100, and the reduced diameter extension part of the needle body is axially extended from the mounting end and has a cylindrical stem portion 70 slidable in another bore of a carburetor body. The free end of the stem is movable in a fuel supply control passage 30 of a fuel duct to vary the flow control cross-sectional area.
