PURPOSE: To provide a nozzle with which stable operation is made possible and slabs having excellent quality are obtd. by preventing the formation and adhesion of alumina by oxidation of molten steel and the adhesion of the deoxidized alumina flowing-in from a tundish and a continuous casting method using this nozzle. CONSTITUTION: The wall surface 2 of the inside hole of a carbon-contg. nozzle body 1 is formed of a material of any among calcium zirconate contg. <1wt.% carbon and <1wt.% free silica, zirconia formed by solutionization of calcium oxide, zircon-base refractories, alumina-zirconia and magnesia-zircon-base refractories. Continuous casting is executed by using such nozzle 1. As a result, both of the formation of the reactive alumina and the adhesion of the deoxidized alumina are simultaneously prevented and excellent spalling resistance is obtd. The stable operation is made possible and the slabs having the excellent quality are obtainable. |
