PURPOSE: To improve the easiness in assembly works of an air bag device by securing its air bag element to an air bag case without using any retainer and simultaneously with assembly of the air bag case. CONSTITUTION: An air bag device has an air bag case 3 consisting of two split segments 3a, 3b, and a bag accommodating part 4 to accommodate a folded air bag element 2 is formed in the front part of the case 3, while an inflator accommodating part 5 to admit fitting of an inflator 1 and hold it is formed in the rear part of the case 3, wherein the inflator 1 is enwrapped within the opening 2a of the air bag element 2 and held in the accommodating part 5. The end of the opening 2a is pinched by a coupling part 7 of the segments 3a, 3b in a position behind the accommodating part 5 and secured in a sealed condition. |
