PURPOSE: To provide the operating method for a low temperature gas compressor that is able to maintain a temperature of gas being sucked in a high pressure stage side compression zone in and around the ordinary temperature at all times. CONSTITUTION: In this operating method of a low temperature gas compressor 2, feeding BOG in a storage tank 1 of liquefied natural gas to a plant after being compressed by this multistage compressor 2, a heat exchanger 12 is installed in a passage 9 ranging from a low pressure stage to the high pressure stage, while a temperature detector 11 is installed in the upstream, measuring a temperature of gas to be discharged out of the low pressure stage side, and simultaneously in the case where the discharged gas temperature is higher than the oridnary temperature, a refrigerant flow rate of the heat exchanger 12 is controlled according to a temperature difference with the ordinary temperature. |
