<p>PURPOSE: To improve drop-impact resistance to prevent a recording medium from being damaged by providing a support member having a cushioning function to support the recording medium in a housing. CONSTITUTION: A support member comprising a boss 26 which has a cushioning function itself and a guide member 27 is provided inside a housing 22 in a housing case 21 in order to support a recording medium such as a tape cassette. A tape cassette 7 is supported and received in the housing case 21 thus constituted so that the boss 26 is fitted to a light source hole of the cassette 7, and a lid member 24 is put over the housing 22. If the housing case 21 including the tape cassette 7 is dropped from an opening/closing end side other than a side 25, it is subject to drop impact. However, the boss 26 supporting the cassette 7 moves against spring pressure of a leaf spring due to moment of inertia by the impact, thereby relaxing or absorbing the impact applied to the tape cassette 7.</p> |
